Sacred Music Florida Will Be Sacred Music USA in 2025

It’s not too late to join this year’s competition and workshops.
This is the ninth year of Sacred Music Florida, inspiring young musicians to learn and excel in performing sacred music.
I’m gleaning this post from their website and through a quick email conversation with one of the coordinators. I’ll provide lots of links so you can find out more.
Where and When and Costs
The competition is at the Gaylord Palms Resort, in Kissimmee, Florida, on May 23, 2024.
Parking is $38 for every time you come in the resort lot, so plan on staying there for meals.
The workshops and chorus are free. There is a fee to compete since they need to pay the judges. An accompanist is also available for a fee.
The Competition
The deadline for registering is May 13, 2024.
The competition is open to ALL students, ages 5 to 19. This is not just for homeschoolers. Out-of-state students may enter the competition this year, as well, even though the national competition isn’t until 2025.
The official national event will start in June 2025. They “will be choosing 1 pianist, 1 vocalist, 1 instrumentalist, 1 choir and 1 orchestra/band/ensemble for every state to perform and compete for a national title.”
The Chorus
All are welcome to sing in a chorus at the end of the day. It is directed by our celebrated local conductor, Dr. John Sinclair.
Next year, they’re planning on adding an orchestra and chorus of students from around the country.
