The Tenth Year of Sacred Music Florida
This is the tenth year of Sacred Music Florida. This one-day event inspires young musicians to excel in performing sacred music to the glory of God.
It’s not too late to join this year’s competition and workshops. The deadline for entry is May 9, 2025.
Where and When and Costs
The competition is at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Kissimmee, Florida, on Thursday, May 22, 2025.
All students, ages 5-19, are eligible to compete. The solo competitions are for piano, organ, vocal, and instrumental. Also, students may enter the small and large ensemble categories.
The workshops and chorus are free. There is a fee to compete since they need to pay the judges. An accompanist is also available for a fee.
All are welcome to sing in a chorus at the end of the day. The conductor is nationally recognized Dr. John Sinclair.
Parking is $38 every time you come into the resort lot, so plan on staying there for meals. The rate will be discounted, so check SacredMusicFlorida.com in May for the rate.
Workshops
Workshops include:
- The College Audition Process
- Our Heritage of Hymns
- Creating Artistry: Practice Beyond the Metronome
- Technical Practice
Coming in 2026: Sacred Music USA
Look for a national competition in New York City in 2026. Sacred Music USA might include an orchestra and chorus of students from around the country. They will choose a pianist, vocalist, instrumentalist, choir and orchestra/band/ensemble from every state to perform and compete for a national title.
