Cru Staff Painting on Display at MCO This Fall
If your flight plans include Orlando in the next few weeks, drop by Gallery MCO to see my painting. I welcome all selfies with the artwork
I submitted “Searching for Fricasso” in response to a call to artists from the Orange County Arts and Cultural affairs initiative for Hispanic Heritage month. A few years ago, when I went all-in with my art practice, I could never have dreamt of all the doors the Lord would open.
Here’s the latest info I got from the organizers about the exhibit:
Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together Art Exhibit
Free and open to the public.
Exhibit Dates: September 7 – October 24, 2024
Gallery MCO, Orlando International Airport
Main Terminal, 3rd Level, near the Food Court

Guest Post by Gordana
I was born and grew up a carefree atheist in a country that doesn’t exist anymore; Yugoslavia. I became a believer in the second year of English literature studies at the University of Belgrade. Fast-forward a few years when I met my husband while dubbing the JESUS Film into Serbian. Fast-forward a bit more to when I moved to the States, we married and had kids, who are a rare breed of true Floridians.
I’ve been a writer since birth, became a gardener to avoid HOA fines, and a sourdough bread baker to preserve my sanity during the pandemic. That is when I also started messing with paint under the careful supervision of our outrageously spoiled cat Palčica (Thumbelina in Serbian). She’s been my faithful collaborator ever since, as my art practice grew and evolved, eventually leading me to join the Cru Arts and Culture team earlier this year.
NOTES:
- MCO is the code for Orlando International Airport.
- Gordana’s artwork at the top of this post is “Searching for Fricasso”.
